The Oxford Dictionary of English Grammar is a straightforward and accessible A-Z guide of the varied and frequently complex terminology of English grammar. It comprises over 1,600 entries with clear and concise definitions, improved by numerous sample sentences, as well as relevant quotations from the technical literature of this area. This second edition is written and edited by Professor Bas Aarts of University College London, author of the acclaimed Oxford Modern English Grammar.

It’s been fully updated and revised, with particular attention paid to wash the sample sentences contained within the text. There are more than 150 new entries which cover current terminology that has arisen since the publication of their first variant, and you will find new entries in the most important English grammars published since the start of the 20th century. Countless new cross-references enhance the user-friendly nature of the text, and also the list of works mentioned has been extensively updated to reflect the current state of the field. A brief appendix of web links has been added.
